The biggest mistake that new managers make?

Continuing to work as if they were the top specialist and not the manager of the team. The shift is often difficult for first-time managers, but it’s crucial—your performance will be tied to the performance of your team. This means, if your team fails, you fail. And if they succeed? You share it with the rest of the group.

Target group

Leaders who are just starting in their new role as a leader, have already started, or have been working for some time and would like to get effective toolkit to get started or to refine their skills.

General information

Extremely practical two-day training. You are welcome to participate if you:

  • have or are about to move from specialist role to become a manager.
  • wish to adapt to your new role as quickly as possible and achieve results.

Why?

During the first year the new leaders are confronted with a confusion about their new roles, high expectations of both team members and manager, overwhelming tasks, need to delegate old responsibilities and a lot more. With proven systematic tools you can make your first year successful.

The participant receives the tools needed to successfully complete the first year of a manager. The trainers link theoretical information with their practical experience in both business management and human resource management.

Trainers

Juta Palmeri


For 12 years, Juta managed HR topics in one of the Swedbank Baltic and Swedish IT units. For the past 10 years, she has been managing a non-profit organization that unites nationwide volunteers. Juta's activities have been focused on developing individuals and teams. She has a coach certificate from the International Supervision and Coaching Institute. She is also a trainer and passes on her knowledge and experience in team management. Juta has been a coach for several managers from both business and public sector organizations. In addition to trainings, she works with both managers and teams, performing team and group coaching as well as team analysis.

Ivar Raav


Ivar is mainly inspired by supporting new leaders to grow and fulfil their potential. Thanks to long-term management experience he focuses in the systematic practical management skills development. Ivar is also passionate to help experienced leaders in creating and developing diversity for organizations. Ivar believes that more diverse teams will do better and have a higher employee experience in the long run. Ivar has nearly 15 years of experience as a developer and trainer of leaders and specialists and nearly 10 years of management experience as a manager in Swedbank, Omniva and If Insurance. Ivar has a master’s degree in Organizational Behavior to support systematic practice with academic knowledge.
