Baltic Marine Contractors (BMC) provides sales and service of marine navigational and communicational equipment and general marine electrical installations with roughly 15 employees. BMC is also the official MaK service dealer in the Baltic region and supplies service and spare parts for our customers in close cooperation with Zeppelin Power Systems and Caterpillar (MaK).

BMC is owned by Zeppelin Power Systems (Germany). Zeppelin Power Systems is a leading provider of drive, propulsion, traction and energy systems based on Caterpillar engines (Cat and MaK) for industrial and marine applications, rail vehicles, oil and gas industry and power generation. Zeppelin Power Systems is part of Zeppelin Group. The Zeppelin Group operates more than 220 sites around the world. In the 2020 fiscal year, it had approximately 10,000 employees who generated sales of 3.2 billion euros. BMC is offering you an exciting role and is looking for an ambitious, talented and business minded technical Leader to take on the position of

GENERAL MANAGER

who is responsible for all activities within BMC - ensure effective market coverage, increase market share and achieve a high level customer and employee satisfaction.

The main priorities of the position are

  • Strategic and operational development of the company together with local teams
  • Participating directly in the sales work
  • Involved in daily business
  • Leadership of highly skilled people
  • Budgeting, forecasting and reporting
  • Close cooperation with the parent company

 

As a suitable candidate you have at least five years managing experience preferably from marine navigational or electrical field in the maritime supply industry (preferably a background in marine navigational and communicational equipment or marine engines) and you hold an academic degree in electrical or marine engineering or in business. A definite plus is if you have experience as superintendent from the marine business or similar. You should be a team player with experience in leadership and management of a small organization as well as experience in development organizations. You have good business understanding and natural interest in technical solutions.

Other requirements include good English and Estonian and oral Russian language skills, valid driver’s license and skillful computer user.

For fruitful work you should have high level of activity and commitment, you are proactive, good negotiator, you must be decisive and result oriented, have good skills to manage time and people and be loyal. There will be frequent business trips.
